Re: fisherman pistol-whipped in Jessamine County

There's one big problem with the argument that he could have shot them in the back and had nothing to worry about. There's nothing in the story that indicates the other two were even armed. Had he shot the first one, and then the other two turned and ran (which I believe they most likely would have), and he then shot them in the back, and they turned out to be unarmed, I think there's an excellent chance he would've ended up being charged with manslaughter.

A family member of mine was in a bad situation and had to take someones life. He doesnt regret doing it as it was necessary , but I can tell you that although he needed to do it it still bothers him to this day and it was some 20 years ago...............

If killing someone didn't bother a person then that person might have some problems.

You are absolutely right. Many people say "oh I'll do this and that and be a bad ass" but its not that easy. and even reading that you may think "I can do that". Killing someone is the hardest thing any sane individual can do. If you think it would be no problem to kill someone, then your either insane or stupid.

It's easy to say "it's very easy" to pull the trigger, but what is un-disputably NOT so easy is living with it for the rest of your life.

If you actually WERE "very highly trained" you would know this.

Don't assume that everyone is the same! Have to disagre with you here. Maybe for a civilian that has never had to shoot someone. Making a statement that it is hard to live with is not true for "everyone". I am a former Marine and unfortunately bad guys have to die some times. I can assure you I am highly trained and it doesn't bother me in the least to put some dirtbag to sleep. If he/she is a threat to myself, my family or my country, nite nite!

IS IT EASY FOR EVERYONE, NOPE! dOES IT BOTHER EVERYONE, NOPE. That was my point, not everyone is going to have issues after having to kill someone or something.

I guess some doctor just made up PTSD and it really doesn't exist!

Re: fisherman pistol-whipped in Jessamine County

Having to kill someone, even if it's some thug trying to kill me, would bother me...yes. It doesn't mean that I wouldn't do it...I would not hesitate if justified under the law to protect my life...but I'm not real sure it's something to puff up your chest about and share with your Grandkids.

Those of you saying that shooting somebody who is running away from you is okay are just wrong, period. I don't care if he was trying to rob you, he's running away. Sorry.

As to the Castle Doctrine, that clause does sound like it would apply to anywhere you have a legal right to be....because....well....that's what it says.

Isn't location kind of irrelevant in Kentucky if someone is attacking you and attempting to do you harm? (Provided it's not a court room, federal building, or somewhere that you are not allowed to carry a weapon.)

Bingo!!!! The majority actually don't! Also, PSTD can be caused by many different things that have very little to do with having to kill someone. Good day gents.

I screwed up in making my point, my point was that being highly trained has nothing to do with whether or not it bothers you to have to kill someone.
