Be prepared for the legal battles. You can't kill just one of three because the other two will have a different story for the Judge and jury. You have to kill all three. No witnesses. Even then, you can have trouble. Here is a link where the parents of a burglar sued for wrongful death--for the burglar's 3 year old daughter and won $300,000 because the burglar did not intend to hurt anybody.

I read the article and to me it's a lesson to be learned for everyone....plan your property and personal defense better!! Maybe not shoot the guy....Prolly should have just let him fall on the pavement a dozen times or so which can break bones.

Seriously, the Judges who are supposed to help protect the rights of everyone seemed to have missed the mark. No doubt his little girl is a victim of having a loser for a father but life is tough and things happen.

I don't know the laws but unless those guys went way over the top and in fact ambushed the guy (rambo style) that judge should retire. Who knows how the thing went down but with the limited info it sounds like they got shafted.

****I read a few comments and see where one poster mentioned the law and his understanding of it in Colorado and if it's accurate these guys messed up. They prolly should have talked to someone first or did some research on their rights using deadly force.****
