Be sure to pack a lot of patience! Was there on Sunday and a boat saw us catch three fish and decided he wanted in on it. Came about 20 yards from us and started casting right where we were, 10inch green worms are working the best for me that is. The bass are hiding in the grass and with this weather I would say slow rolling a spinner bait above it should trigger them well. A lot of people are still fishing deeper my guess cranking. Heard that some are doing ok but for me the numbers have not been that good, most of it I would say would be all the pressure this small lake gets.

It seems that this kind of behavior is pretty standard for CCL, or at least it has been in my experience. I think I don't mind that as much as the idiots blowing past you at 60 miles per hour only 30 yards away while you are pounding some timber... I haven't been lately, just ventingBe sure to pack a lot of patience! Was there on Sunday and a boat saw us catch three fish and decided he wanted in on it. Thanks for the heads up on the lack of courtesy to expect on the lake... Nothing like bent pole and blow-bye's for a nice relaxing day on the lake.![]()
Cedar Creek is so small and actually fishes smaller it cause guys to get a ''Get there first mentality''. Sometimes you have to get in line to go down a bank or a line of timber. Fish in the middle of the week, it's still bad but nothing like on the weekend.
Soft plastics will always get you fish there. The bass there are starting to key on fry and baitfish though and can be caught in open water areas right now. Watch for bait coming up if it's calm, bass are under them. Don't do what everybody else is doing, being very different there from the norm sometimes will get your arm broke...![]()
I guess I may be an odd one out here, but I have caught my best fish (fuzz under 7 lb) on top water frogs going down the shallow bank on the right side of the cove before the third or single lane. I usually start just before the first little coved recess on the right before you see the lone brick chimney sticking up in the field.
my $0.02!
Was there in a kayak last week. And I guess a tournament just started while I was on the water. A ******* in a white boat came within 5 feet of where I was fishing in my kayak and started casting to the same spot. I go there because of the size and is eaisly navigatable in my kayak. But it really dosen't take much skill to fish this lake. Fish are easy to find. If you want a peaceful day go elsewhere.
Thanks everyone, I'll post my outing results. Looking forward to being out on the water.
I am going in the morning and on Sunday I will let you know also
Report: fished Monday and Tuesday. Water temp 71-75, caught a few fish on topwaters early and late. Tried all kinds of baits, locations, depths during the day and really never came up with a good pattern, everything was random. Caught about 10 fish between the two of us on Monday and 7-8 on Tuesday. We caught 2 nice fish about 4 lbs. and the rest were 15" or less. Had a great time and enjoyed being out on the lake.
BTW, Everyone was very nice and never had any issues on or off the water!
Nice report, thanks. I have met a couple of very nice people out there. I have enevr had an issue there...''Yet''. But I also keep in mind that the lake fishes small, and if a guy gets in front of you, pull the trolling motor up and hit another area. This mentality there will help make the day go alot easier...Report: fished Monday and Tuesday. Water temp 71-75, caught a few fish on topwaters early and late.
