VERY, VERY NICE.
I wish I would have had my 6.8 smallie done........of course, I caught that 25 years ago and don't have but 1 poloroid picture............AND artificial mounts were unheard of back then.

Just got my personal best smallmouth REPLICA mount back. Harry Whitehead of Gunner's Taxidermy did the work! 7.04 pounds.
VERY, VERY NICE.

that looks sweet....where is that at?
Pretty fish...way to go.
That's looks really good. Nice fish.
I was wondering how it compares to the actual fish? Do you think it is pretty close? I have a 9.5 LM actual fish mount from Georgia from my younger years but would love to get a replica of a bass from Kentucky without killing it. I have a few pictures that I was considering a replica. Is it much more expensive than a regular mount?
This is the second fish I have had a replica of. The first was a 12.02# LM and honestly I was and am disapointed with the LM, I had a guy I found on the internet do the mount, it turned out beautiful except the size of the fish was off, it was at least 2 pounds visibly shy and the mouth wasn't right and a few other things I didn't like. Now this smallmouth that Gunner's did is absolutly dead on, I can't find a single difference in the replica and the actual fish. I mean all the way to the fin sizes and shapes, colors, every detail is just like the real fish. I think this has to do with the fact that Harry did this one. Harry paid extra close attention to all the details and really put in the effort to get it right, and he honest to God nailed it! I have zero complaints about it. I'm even going to take my LM to him and let him redo it, since he did such a good job with the SM. I'm not sure what a real fish costs to mount since I've never had a real mount, this replica cost me $20/inch. But after seeing the quality it was worth $30/inch.That's looks really good. Nice fish.

Through a true artisan skilled in the craft of taxidermy you can expect to pay anywhere from $13.00-$14.00 to $16.00 or so per inch for a skin mount. All I have on my walls are skin mounts...a striper, a smallmouth and a trout. I don't expect to be mounting anymore unless I catch another one of these same three species that are HUGE.
That is a great price. I looks like a real qaulity mount.
