We didn't choose our opponent, but would have been competitive against anyone. How many BCS bowls has UK been to? 0. The year that UofL went to the Orange Bowl, the Big East had 3 of the top 5 teams in Louisville, West Virginia, and Rutgers. Talk about cream puffs. If it were not for William Gay jumping offside against Rutgers, Louisville would have been playing for the national championship that year, as well as the year that Kerry Rhodes dropped the interception against Miami/combined with a Brian Brohm coming in as a true freshman to battle the number 1 ranked team in the country. UK has never been in contention for anything besides the GAYlord bowl. Enough said.
hate to bust your bubble, but thy would not have put Louisville in the National Championship title game if you would have beat Rutgers. They would have over looked Louisville. Like Bobby Petrino said " They give you the bid iin the big east, you have to earn it in the SEC"
