You forgot about Illinois...I would rank it at the top.....

I blame the large majority of liberals in Louisville for the transportation issues we have. They do not want "progress" and try to fight it at all costs......look up 86/64 and see if that doesn't prove my point....and River Fields while you're at it....as long as the city keeps putting liberals in office who will take up their fight, it's going to be a continuous struggle.

If you look to the western part of the state, you'll see some major construction going on with 68/80 and two new large bridges going in over KY and Barkley Lake. The difference there is that the people there WANT the construction going on with little opposition from local special interest groups.

The special interest groups do more than you could ever imagine to hinder progress on projects.

What was completed under Eisenhower wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of being built in today's society....it's not so much politics as it is that the country itself has changed. Everyone used to embrace a "moving forward" mentality and took part in trying to shape our country for a better tomorrow and better way of life for our children. Now there is a large majority of people that make it their life's work to prevent such things from happening, and as their numbers grow, so do our frustrations. The more urbanized the area, the more of these people you will find....and the stronger their influence.
