they didn't let up any today either. Plenty of fish 3-5 lbs just waiting to be caught, about any kind of way you want to catch them from topwater to 20 ft. Some of the best fishing I've seen here.

Fished Barren Friday, Saturday and Sunday this past weekend and caught over 100 fish with 30 of them being over 15" and the biggest being 5 lbs. Friday was our best day when the clouds were thick and the light rain lasted until afternoon. We found 3-5lb fish stacked up in the back of Hurricane Creek and nailed em with spooks, pop-r's and swim baits in 1 ft of water. They were gone when the sun came out. Wish we were in a tournament that day! The rest of the trip we hit docks with jig & trailer combos and creature baits. Our next best bite came on deep diving cranks on points & riprap.

I third that....I hit BRL this evening for a few hours around 3:30pm....MAN O MAN!!!It was hard to go away from my NRL...but I was glad I did! Had my 8 yr old daughter with me...promised her I would take her out after school today...she had a ball! Every fish was a keeper, or darn near close to one! Caught them on shad cranks in 4-6 ft of water, and swim baits...anywhere there were shad popping, there were bass. Fun stuff! Several in the three pound range, and one nice one at 4.5. Think I might have to cheat on NRL again this week, haha!

caught them up in the head of a major creek, midway out the creek on a flat, on the points near the mouth of the creek, and on main lake points; pretty much about every place we fished. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, worms, tubes, jigs, traps, flukes, and crankbaits all produced fish. Pretty incredible that you could catch nice fish on such a variety of lures, locations, and depths. I don't ever recall having done that. Usually I'll stick with what starts working, but we moved around a lot and tried different things, and most everything seemed to work. I guess it's a good time to try out that new technique you been thinking about but haven't yet. I might have to try out a swimbait tomorrow.
are you all talkin about barren river lake in glasgow ky??
that shure dont sound like our lake
!!!!!!!!lol
must to have been there
been some good fish here water is about all turned over so you guys could have just seen the start of the fall bite
Just got up this morning to head back fishing. Better take something to eat just in case I stay 'til dark.
Yeah, everything must have lined up just right for as many fish as we caught. Every place we fished produced at least a couple. It's nice to have a bit of luck every now and then. Been a tough year for me.
Fished all day today in new water from yesterday and caught 3 keepers nothing over 3 lbs, maybe 25 fish in all, most over 12". Caught all of them on a crankbait and tube. A couple of missed popR blowups early, and several blown bites with breakoffs and bad hook sets. Wind made it tougher feeling bites and getting a good hookset. No where near the shad activity as there was yesterday. A little disappointing, but still a good day.
Were they in jumps? Did ya see any Hybrid jumps?Fished Barren Friday, Saturday and Sunday this past weekend and caught over 100 fish with 30 of them being over 15" and the biggest being 5 lbs. Saw some small fish in the jumps. Casted a few but no luck. Really did not see any big boils. Are there big Hybrids in Barren?
