The lake while not chock full of grass isnt devoid, drawdown exposes small patches even up north in the back ends of bays.
Spraying and mother nature flooding dont get rid of it all, somewhat change the types available but places like blood river drainage ditch and big sandy, help to replenish it.No not miles of hydrilla as in the past more pondweed, yellow floating heart, duckweed and such combined with lilly pads way south like 40 miles south of paris landing.
But pass up a patch of cattails about the size of a bathtub and ones passing a keeper fsh.Reeds and rushes grow on most of the islands, and at times contain fish.
42 miles south in a bay

Hey lilmule, how is Crooked Creek and the area around the Danville Ferry looking? I haven't been down that far all year - any grass in that area?
Was drawdown got rid of it,just as in other places it allows it to grow, newly exposed it lasts but a few days, wind ,wave action regardless where one goes grass ends up on the rod guides as in loose cut off etc yet little can be seen.
Newjohnsonville had hydrilla went back and poof, suspect the non existent tva grass program, with non existent helicopters who stay in paris, while doing it.
Almost topped by the rr bridge in july gone in aug.
The stuff does not work well on pondweed(bass bay comes to mind ) and they are actually causing it to spread american lotus and yellow pond lilly due to its submerged root system also survives but it does not like current therefore bays.
If one ventures out of sight of the lake up a creek some resemble swamps, bald cycprus, yellow lillys, elephant ear, duckweed, primrose etc and numerous plants I cannot name that grow shallow, but at times with rising water can be deeper than normal and usable for fish.
As they drop the water new growth starts not only with pondweed but other things just not usable right away and time, temp, and waves gets rid of it.
lilmule thats a great picture of the lilly pads....it SCREAMS get the net
