Eddie M - You make some good points...but man I just can't trust'em. Of course too, unlike you I have never spent time in a boat with one either so that makes a difference in my opinion verses your's...all I know, all I have ever known about Muslims comes straight from ABC News, WHAS 11 and fishin.com. I don't care enough about them to spend time researching information about them on my own either, I just take the news as it comes to me, and most of the time it seems like it's bad news.
Chub, I completely understand your feelings, and you're not wrong for thinking that way. That wasn't my point. I just wanted to let folks know that I've turkey hunted 30 yards from a Muslim in full camo, and never had a single worry about a hunting "accident." No matter what is going on in Iran, I still trust him, just like I do my other friends, like Geo.
A quick question or 3.
How many lunatic fringes of any other religion other than Muslim have been bombing, shooting, hijacking, and terrorizing innocent people all over the world for the last 50 years?
How many other religions treat women the way Muslims do?
How many Christians did you see celebrating in the streets after the McVeigh bombing?
Nobody can fault you for having anyone you please as a friend, but comparing recent versions of Christian and Islamic faiths just doesn't add up.
Would Westboro bapist be considered a " Lunitic Christian Fringe" sect ? They have not blew themselves up, yet, for there cause, probally wont as they dont have as much faith as the "radical Muslems" do in their religion. That is why there radical groups are so dangerious. When a person has that much faith in their religion, to blow themselves up, to die for it, they are unstoppable. THis guy is standing up for his belives, he has too its in our bible about this sorta thing, where the beast will want you to denounce Christ, something like that. I denounce all radical acts that any so called christian religion does, why like Geo said cant the muslems stand up against this stuuf if they want the same as others. I am sorry, I like many others tend to feel mistrust for them, I know that there are many peaceful Muslims out there, but it is sad that I feel this way. Once burned you are careful with fire. Thanks for posting this Geo. I am glad that you keep us informed on stuff that matters, "sometimes" lol. Maybe to please bass99 you can post some stuff on Lady GaGa, you know just to spice it up some. Lol lol lol.
I have a few Muslim friends too........I would also trust them and would not ever worry about an "accident", but I suspect they are my "friend" because they don't harbor hatred towards Christians.Chub, I completely understand your feelings, and you're not wrong for thinking that way. I don't know too many folks that do harbor hatred......but I guess that is why they are not my friend.
I don't know ANY Muslims in Iran........
Later,
Geo

I think you have some misconceptions of Muslims and try to justify all of them. They don't go around killing every person who is not "one of them." I may not be the brightest bulb in the package, but from what I read and hear on the news, there is usually an event that occurred which did not align with their beliefs or with which they disagreed. Obviously fishing and turkey hunting was not in conflict with the Muslim beliefs.
Have you ever considered that most of the Muslims who were born in the United States came from another faith, most likely Protestant? Louis Farakahn is a good example. When you compare Muslims who were born and raised strictly by that faith, you may want to look over your shoulder once in a while. jmo
Eddie, let me enlighten and entertain you for a couple of minutes. As a conversation piece, I have hanging in my office a framed rare, December 1930, ORIGINAL OFFICIAL DOCUMENT of The Ku Klux Klan. The heading reads as follows: (Capitalization is used as written in the document).
OFFICE OF THE GRAND DRAGON
KNIGHTS OF THE KU KLUX KLAN
REALM OF ILLINOIS
OFFICIAL DOCUMENT
ONCE A KLANSMAN---ALWAYS A KLANSMAN
KLANSMEN, ATTENTION!
THIS DOCUMENT IS A PERSONAL COMMUNICATION FROM YOUR GRAND DRAGON, TO EACH INDIVIDUAL KLANSMAN OF THE REALM. THIS IS A CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATION AND IS NOT TO BE GIVEN TO ALIENS. YOUR KLIGRAPP ALWAYS HAS A COPY FOR YOU, SO ASK FOR IT.
The heading of the first and third paragraphs which I will copy is titled:
THE COUNTERFEITERS (Keep in mind that in 1930 The United States was in The Great Depression).
"Now that all the political campaigns and other disturbing agencies that cause wrangles, hard feeling and misunderstandings in the Klan are out of the way, we should get back to and faithfully teach and pratice the fundamental principles of Klankraft. The Klan had its origin in a set of fundamental principles and ideals. It was born, lived and grew on these pure fundamentals. Then along came the politician and sought to use this great American organization for the satisfaction of his own selfish political ambitions. He was not wholly successful but he did, to a certain extent, make inroads in our great institution. He did not and could not destroy the Klan. The cause of the Klan is greater than any individual or group of individuals whether they be selfish seeking politicians or whether they eminate from some other source of selfishness. The Klan will live on--long live the Klan."
"It was during the early days of the war that this Nation was flooded with counterfeit money and our government officials knew that some definite steps had to be taken in order to forestall the counterfeiters. To this end the government set up schools of instruction, covering a period of seven weeks, at centrally located points throughout the Nation. To these schools were called bank officials and other people dealing largely in United States currency. The instruction in these schools was intensive during the entire period. The sole subject of discourse was counterfeit money."
I also have the original, handwritten notice from the Kligrappe dated 12-20-1930, for the election of officers and naturalization. There was an open invitation for membership and a membership card enclosed which reads, "The bearer, whose name is signed on the margin hereof, is entitled to meet with all Klans of the Invisible Empire until further notice." Attest: H.W. Evans, Imperial Wizard. On the card is the Logo of the Klan with the word 'HONOR' written at the bottom.
I want to make it perfectly clear that, while I own these documents, they were not a part of the family estate that I inherited almost four years ago. No member of my family supported nor has ever been a member of the Klan. The membership card is blank.
