Last fri. Night was rough. At wax, we only had 16 boats show up, and 1st
place was a little over 2 1/2 lbs. (big fish tourn.)
by thurs it should be warmed up some, i'd try the mouths of creeks and coves first, use cranks, tubes, and maybe weighted flukes. Let us know how you did... Tr
A report will definitely be posted after the trip!
There was a tourny there this weekend, Beachamp/Long won with 9lbs...I'm figurin that means its SLOW
Which tourney was that?
Me and bruce morgan fished the university of louisville tournament there this weekend.Did not have a very good day at all,,we went shallow and threw buzz baits and etc that morning along with some severe flippin and done pretty much nothin..
We came out on the main at around 10.00 and caught sevral fish from 12 to 14 inches long, plenty of them..
Caught everything on rocky points just on the inside mostly, and was pretty agressive with it.
Throw a 3/8 ounce jig in natural color tipped with a paca craw, and c-rig the deep rocky wind blown points and you should catch fish,,just dont know how big they will be,..Ours was all slots..LOL..![]()
Hit it Saturday and they kinda like shut down after the past 3 weeks of being on fire. One keeper on chartreuse shad rap lots of short strikes on that and about 6 fish. Didn't even get a sniff off a "buzz bait". Worked a Carolina rig worm missed a couple but wind played a big role in that. Also had some a##hole pull beside me asking where he was and proceeded to gun that big motor attempting to swamp my small rig. Fishing the tournament I assume. As he sure was in some kinda hurry. Sorry son of a b****hin a##hole!
Sounds like the same guy that headed straight toward me and my buddy and we pretty much had to shut down instantly or i think he would have hit us.He had the whole lake but i think he wanted to see how close he could get.
Thank you folks I am headed down to our camp at Wax on Friday for my b-day .I have done well this time of year on Rebel Crawdad crank baits with the orange belly
It's about that time....orange belly's should do the trick especially with this little warm up we're gonna see the next few days. Friday should be perfect with a lot of fish shallower and beginning to put on the Fall feed bag in preparation for Winter. I'm a Bandit fan, but the craw pattern is my favorite also.
