You pretty much penned my thoughts on this. I actually got it working and put my daughters small tv on top of the old faithful just in case it dumps again. I'm looking at 52" and up and will have it figured out by black Friday. I been on cnet checking reviews and will be at best buy more then once before then. I never did buy my surround sound either. Wait till Black Friday...month of October the fall bite is turning on, on into November and December depending on the location, body of water, etc...it ain't like you're going to miss anything on television between now and the first of the year anyway
Not sure what size you're considering, but the last time I bought one (2 years ago) I had a hard time finding a Sony in anything smaller than a 52"...so that's what we bought, a 52" Sony. Lots of people are buying LG's now days it seems.
