hey its other topics, sometimes fun sometimes voicing gripes.Some times truth. sometime exageration.But society is changing, it is not as polite as it used to be,More of the "me" and less of do unto.

Keep in mind that this is a fishing site, and that fishermen tend to be the best liars. You can't believe everything you read on here, or should at least question everything you read

Yes...I do take it as a reflection of society, seriously! And just as a reminder, I ain't just talkin' about here on fishin.com...

I already know I can't believe everything I read and even less of what I hear, but this ain't about lyin'...like gorski wrote, there's a lot less do unto others these days than ever before...or so it seems to me anyway. All of it wears me out sometimes too....

I agree with you Chub, society is angry right, they are scared, they are depressed, they just mad. This country is depressed right, depression is anger turned inward, anger is depression let out. Every great nation has fell at one time or another in their history, we could possiblly be headed that way,as there is too much disagrement within the ranks, problems keep being added on without any thought of soluving them. And also welcome to the media age, where it is all out there for the world to see and feed off of. Cant we all just get along and go fishing.

I think we all get a little tense when we percieve finances, jobs, social concerns to be threatening our ways of life. Little less secure, and a little more aggressive to defend ourselves. And when others under stress have a short fuze and attack us, our insecurities are what make us qucker to defned our selves and do it more ruthlessly.

I think we ought to see this site as a place to seek temporary refuge from all the stuff going on in the world. A place to talk about fish, boats, rods, reels, baits. Recreation is an escape from the norm so we can be more relaxed and stronger to take on the tough isues....the ones we really do have to deal with to survive in our daily lives in the real world.

So maybe we just use the site as a place to talk fishing, and all enjoy a chance to get away from sports bickering, politics, the news, stocks, the market.....the normal day to day things we must endure. Lets use the site as a place to escape from all that and relax for a while with friends.

And maybe we talk about issues, instead of each other. Attack issues, not people.

I think it's always been this way, you just notice it more when you get older. My granddad has said the same things you have for many years, now that I'm older I know what he means now.
