Thanks for posting... what can I say..........http://news.stanford.edu/news/2005/j...bs-061505.html
Some of you may have seen this, others may not have. The video is on youtube but I like to read stuff and refer back to it, etc...This is a good read and worth your time in my opinion.
ummm Was he a personal friend of someone on this board? I dont see why all the hoo ha over his death. It is always sad when someone who is young has to die of cancer but it happens all around us everyday. Prayers are for the family he left behind. I guess to America he is a hero cuz he lived your American Dream of starting a business and getting super rich. Yes that he did. I guess that is what alot of you aspire too.
So, what are you trying to say?????ummm Was he a personal friend of someone on this board? I dont see why all the hoo ha over his death. A personal friend to someone here? C'mon....most likely not.ummm Was he a personal friend of someone on this board? I dont see why all the hoo ha over his death. Yes...I wouldn't mind being filthy rich. But depending on one's definition of rich, well....I'm rich in many ways, very VERY blessed actually. Got all I need, that's for sure.
As the saying goes "Dont count your chickens until they have hatched". What you think you have and need now maybe gone in the blink of an eye!
He wasn't so much a "hero," he was one of the great minds of our time. Many many people are paying respects to him all over the world, Gills, including up in Canada, and it's not because he was rich. I'm surprised at your attitude; I thought you realized that not all we Americans are selfish money-grubbers any more than all Canadians drink Yukon Jack and say "eh?" all the time.ummm Was he a personal friend of someone on this board? what attitude? I paid respects by saying he was too young to die and send prayers to his family. He was a guy who made gadgets and toys for people and made a ton of money for it. People die all the time and I dont see them mentioned so I am trying to understand it. No reason for you folks to get yourselves all worked over it. "Me think thou doth protest too much"
If I am still around here when Bill Gates dies I promise I wont say a word.![]()
He wasn't "a guy who made gadgets," he was a guy who changed the way the world uses computers. The fact that he made a lot of money at it is just a side note. And by "attitude" I was referring to your openly derisive statement that "I guess that's what a lot of you aspire to."
When it come s to Steve Jobs, no defense needed! His life time achievements speak volumes. RSP Steve
