What do you guys pay? I'm up to $40 a month for basic service through our local cable company in Lexington. They keep raising rates like this and I'll have to back off some of my service. Feel like I'm getting shafted!![]()

Comcast in Etown, hits us for $53 for cable TV (expanded basic) and 6mbps Internet at $57, total about $110 a month.
I'm looking for bundles, that would do TV, internet, and phone all in one. Don't want a dish, so right now, can't seem to find a plan that fits. Closest thing I've found is Windstream offering for $54 a month, Local and long distance phone, and 6 mbps internet as a mini-bundle. But, the internet comes in over the phone line, and I'm just not sure how good that works these days.
Do you all have internet via phone line or cable, and which do you think works best, most convient, reliable etc.
I hear ya ont eh tax stuff, my bill reads like they have taxed the taxes![]()
We have windstream, bundle package, phone and internet comes to 82 bucks a month , including taxes. Going to drop the phone service, and just use our cell phone.
I know of several folks who have that bundle and love it. The internet service is fine according to them and they are pretty picky people. We have it that way here at the office with windstream and it works well. Of course from the IT closet I get my connection along Cat 5e cable.Comcast in Etown, hits us for $53 for cable TV (expanded basic) and 6mbps Internet at $57, total about $110 a month.

I don't need a home phone since I have a cell. I'm going to check into Direct TV since I'm hearing good things about them compared to Dish.
In TN we had a bundle that included fantastic cable tv with all 3 tiers (we could channel surf until we passed out), phone with unlimited local and long distance calling, and great internet services. It cost $186/month with Charter Communications.
We moved to AL and have TDS Services, phone (unlimited calling) and internet (phone line that requires a card to separate phone from computer lines) with Dish Network TV all bundled for $123/month. IT *****! During tropical storm Lee we received 12 inches of rain. It was raining hard and blocked the signals to the Dish and the TV went blank. When it comes back on we have to wait 5-10 minutes for that piece of crap to re-program and it may or may not download all the HD channels. It has happened several times when it is raining. Out of frustration, I have been known to throw the remote control across the room and almost give my husband a heart attack. I have just signed a permit giving permission for another (new) cable service to cross my property and attach REAL CABLE to the power poles. We have underground electrical service to the house but this is power lines that run along the highway on one side of the property. When they get all the cables hung, I'm canceling TDS service.
I pay $79 a month for wildblue and its about half the quality internet service that cable or DSL is....living in the stix gives you lots of privacy but it sure is lacking on things like decent internet... $84 for dish service, that seems ridicules for TV service.
Thanks man! Appreciate the info on teh experience. Was worried about it.I know of several folks who have that bundle and love it.
