A number of years ago, I called the KDFWR to ask specifically about fishing while squirrel hunting from a boat at Taylorsville. They said it's OK as long as you're doing it safely. They also recommended notifying the conservation officer who works the lake to let him know what you're doing.

Things might have changed in the past ten years, so I'd recommend calling again before you go.
