Union REPS in Chicago getting a pension from the UNION and the City at the same time.

The corruption in UNIONS is just as bad as Government. And if you think wall street is bad, you should take a serious look at the upper levels of any UNION.

I have a family member who has NEVER worked the assembly line......NEVER, yet he represents the "working man" as a very high ranking UAW/GM union negotiator. Dude makes nearly 200k a year, and has never worked as a "working man"......probably would not last 1 month on a line.

Hahahaha naw the Unions are not doing anything wrong. They just look out for the working man.

I think alot of this stuff is the fault of the potus and his class warfare. I don't think he would ever allow this to go on if the unions were having this attack. He would be out there defending them daily speaking to the people about how awesome and needed the unions are.

My personal feeling is that the Libs are praying that somehow those demonstrations find a true identity so they can build on it. Hearing how they have mentioned the TEA Party in the same breath and implying that this is some sort of liberal version on the tea party makes me think they want that because the TEA party has produced results.

Of course the action by these folks are nothing to the actual TEA party who are politically organized and represented in Congress.

The unions seem to be trying to latch onto the anti-Wall Street movement, if you can call it that. Just guessing, but I'd bet that most union members don't want to see slackers getting any more $ than they have earned. Also, that seems to be the crux of the anti-Wall St. crowd. Those college kids who've never held a job think that it's terrible for Wall St. people to earn big salaries.

Once the big $ gets within reach, the union folks AND the anti-Wall St. coffeehouse gathering seems to respond by saying, "LOWER TAXES!"

Big bucks for union leaders? I was the president of a local, 7-513 OCAW, I didn't paid a penny. My expenses were watched, and a lot of my out of pocket exspenses were paid by me. I didn't recieve a "golden parachute". Want to bi--- about something? How can a CEO who almost bankrupts a company get a settlement in the millions?Why did the board of the bailed out banks declare tax payer paid bonuses?How can a member sit on three or four corporate boards and get paid for each one?You cite one or two examples, but never see how your "capitalism" is subsidized to a great extent by tax payers.You're so happy to see the stock prices go up, but dont look why.You are a one man rodeo,sometimes you make some valid comments, bhut then you fall off the wagon, got some kind of problem?

7-513 OCAW - What union is this, what line of work is it?

OCAW Oil Chemicals, and atomic workers.At one time, Whiting and East Chicago In, had 7 working refinerys. Probably the same amount of chemical plants. The refinerys moved to TX and La. {by the way most of them are still unionized to some extent]The main reason was the oil and natural gas in that area.The atomic workers were part of the work force at oak ridge Tn. Also one of the largest refiners in that area, [standard oil], blew up, burned for 2 whole days. When it was rebuilt, it was the start of computer operating systems, a couple of thousand emplyees were never called back.
