I was wondering how old do you have to be to drive a bass boat on the lake by yourself or with an adult?
A person must be 12 years or
older to operate a motorboat (including
personal watercraft) 10
horsepower or over on Kentucky
public waters. A person 12 - 17
years old shall possess a Kentucky
Safe Boating Certificate Card or
a certificate showing successful
completion of a NASBLA approved
boater education course.

Persons under 12 years of age
must wear a personal floatation
device (lifejacket) while in the
open portion of a boat that is underway.
