Well RoadToad, for several years certain UL Posters have took every cheap shot at UK they could, digging up every piece of mostly made up information and using it in a hatefest that was more than over the top.
It's funny how some can dish it out,but can't take it,especially when these same UL posters insult and degrade the people and state of Kentucky beyond the Louisville metro area.

I'm a UK supporter, but I love the natural beauty of this state and the hospitality of the rural residents and stand offended by people that reside in the same Commonwealth claiming to be outdoorsmen, yet trashing what they have little of.

    Re: Funny, Part 2

We tossed the idea of a separate board before and it was posed to be for politics. It never happened and that's cool cause it ain't my board but some of the reasons of not having a no holds barred place to slug it out were pretty good. A few questions......

1)Why give people a place to be out of line on the keyboard that wouldn't do it face to face. Would that lead to face to face fights?
    2) That kind of freedom would have to be a members only board approved by a moderator or process because young eyes don't need to see grown men acting like spoiled rotten little kids. The words and accusations would get out of hand for sure.
The political stuff was bad and it worked itself out....can't the players who are in this UK and UL battle clean it up? I mean really???? Are there any of you with kids who would want them to see how you act? It's like watching some kids say yes it is...no it's not.....yes it is....no it's not over and over and over.
The idea of don't read it if you don't like it is crazy. It's like watching a train wreck ....you can't help but watch the carnage.

FINALLY A VOICE OF REASON is heard in the midst of all this insanity. Thank you, Don!

p.s. I voted for a separate board for sports. Now if we could get the sports section of the Louisville newspaper included, we could all read it for ourselves and get it "fair and balanced." (Note to Peter, jk jk jk).

    Re: Funny, Part 2

IMO there is no need for a separate board, an additional place for moderators to moderate, and all the jazz that goes with it...

This is the "Off Topic" board...where you talk about anything that aint fishing. You can NOT click on the thread here just as quickly as you can NOT click on the thread in another forum. The whole "it's cluttering up the thread list" argument is weak. If you go creating a separate forum for every topic that is popular you'll forever be creating new forums.

Don's exactly right about the train wreck effect too...you know you're all reading these posts waiting to see what Elnut's crazy ass is going to say next, or what is going to spew out of Mills, or what Tim T is going to tee-off on...and that's just the sports stuff. You're also clicking the fire out of the political links to see who is going to piss in who's Cheerios next. It's like that drunk uncle you've got who always shows up at the Christmas party and pukes in Grandma's front porch ferns. It would be a whole lot more "proper" without him there, but by God he's family, and Christmas just wouldn't be the same without the drama. Let it alone. It's what makes an Off Topic Forum entertaining. If you want to kill it and make it all go away, start busting it up and micro-managing it. It'll become as vanilla and boring as the Lawrence Welk Show around here. Trust me.

Now, are some going way too far here lately? Yep. A case of Message Board Diarrhea, or "The Cyber Runs" as it's known on the street, has left a couple nursing a little bit of toilet paper rash. They will eventually get put on permanent vacation....or, just like a deep UofL NCAA Tourney run, it will eventually flame out and things will get back to normal.

Sure, glad to reply here because my joke was on the public forum and some of the guys might be curious. I took a little teasing jab at Bill O'Reilly and FOX who sometimes overuse the words "Fair and Balanced." As for the comment about including the sports section of the Louisville newspaper, we all know that would be either a virtual impossibility or prohibitively expensive. I included the jk jk jk to let you know I was JUST KIDDING.

If you would like, I will respond by PM to any other information you would like for me to provide.

I doubt much will change.. I've been without a computer for a couple of wks. There's a about 3 on here that have great knowledge in trivia. And I have talked to a couple that don't post and let them read some of the trivia/facts posted....I read things I had no clue about concerning the history of the sport of basketball and football in the state of Ky.

And soon basketball season will start...I doubt much will change.

I know who I am, how long I've been here, what teams I root for, who busted my balls, whose balls I busted, whose busted whose balls and have for yrs, whose been sick, who got divorced, whose lost loved ones, who lost their jobs, who moved...I doubt much will change..
And soon basketball season will start...I doubt much will change.

That being said. I doubt much will change. Facts are just that and diehard fans are just that and idiots are just plain stupid.

And soon basketball season will start...I doubt much will change.

And soon basketball season will start...I doubt much will change.

But I have no tolerance for folks being just plain mean. That needs to change. Ribbing is ribbing. I have fun with it and see who does on here.Namecalling in a malcious way( I call everyone boneheads every now and then but it fun) should not be acceptable. Calling a man a liar, I don't get it. That needs to change. We don't need an audience if we have a problem with someone. A PM keeps it between the 2 or 3. They can go at it without needing or wanting a bunch of Attaboys...

And soon basketball season will start...I doubt much will change.

Now I'm off to the deer blind to see if I can hit the broad side of a barn with this bow...Robin Hood I aint...I doubt that will change.

I voted yes, but do it on a seperate board, on a seperate forum, in a seperate country.

I would really rather come here and read and write about fishing and boats.
I do like the off topics area, and like it being a blend of everything. If that included politics sometimes, well okay.

Where do we draw the line? A board, for computers and software, one for weather, one for sports, one for plumbing, one for taxes, one for the economy, one for foreign affairs..... I think most of fishin.com ought to be boats and fishing and rods, and reels and trolling motors. So do each of those get a seperate board too? A board for Bass, one for Bluegills, one for cats, one for Stripers, one for Crappie, and a seperate board for catching NOTHING.

    Really, make it toooooo simple:
    Fishing only.
    Gear talk only.
    Boat talk only.
Buy and sell boat or fishing stuff only.
And OFF-TOPICS.....anything else you want to talkabout.

And to be even less committed and consing, I agree everyone of us can elect to not see whatever we decide to NOT click on.

I know I know.....I ought to do that more often myself.....but I'M ADDICTED.

I know in the past we talked about a separate political board with maybe limited access where folks would be able to speak their mind more "precisely".

I was thinking any sports board if there is to be one would moderated the same way as this one.

    thanks

    Re: Funny, Part 2

I personally like the fact that there is one board where we can discuss everything under the Sun in one place.

There are 20 post on the first page of the main board and only a handful are sports related. It's not like there is a sports post overflow that is pushing post that are a few hours or even a day old to the second page.

I mean what's next a angry GeoFisher board where only he can post?

Is it that hard to not look at or get sucked into post that you have no intrest in?

One suggestion I would make to Peter is to implement an ignore poster button/option if possible. Then if you keep buttin heads with someone hit the ignore button and you no longer see their post/replies.

    Just my 2 cents.
