Who invented the Fork, and Who taught the English how to USE IT???

I'm from Pennsylvania.....what's a fork?

Maybe this is how I need to explain it. In my 'neck of the woods' the children ask other children, "What do you do when you come to a fork in the road?" When the new kid answers, "Turn left or turn right," the others start laughing and say, "Start looking for a plate of food."
