NFL Blackout Rule

Did you know that when a NFL team doesn't sell out tickets to a home game the NFL has what is called a blackout rule?

The game cannot be seen on any tv within 75 miles from the stadium. This goes as far as even blacking out those that have paid a lot of money for the NFL Sunday Ticket on satellite tv.

Is it just me or does this seem like the NFL being greedy scumbags?

This has been around as long as I can remember. Growing up in Delaware, there would be times we couldn't watch the Eagles OR the Colts.
