I like my Mahi-Mahi lightly blackened like they cook at Phillipi Creek Oyster Bar in Sarasota.
I think he was referring to the triple catch in the original video. There are no multiple catches in the one linked here.

I only posted it because I thought they wanted to know how to cast it or to see it cast, as I said before I youtubed the heck out it because I thought it was fascinating -
Fair enough, maybe I'm the one on the wrong wavelength!
I can see why it would be popular as it's sure to resemble a small shoal of baitfish if it's running correctly. As mentioned though, surely soon to be banned from tournaments if not already!

Actually as being used by most banned by many state regs,as many have rod.line or lure limits used per angler.
Also why its called an alabama rig, they permit it there, can it be altered for other locales yes by limiting the amount of lures or actual hooks in them.
Does however defeat the purpose say as in Wis one can use two, others three with hooks.A striper rig close in nature has been around a long time, but most of those have but one hook in the very last minnow or lure.
Check your local regs before casting one with 5 lures.
Guys, the thing is great, used one on KY Lake and was busting fish, nice keepers, there are many like the bama rig that work really well, maybe a fad but it works! Especially on suspended fish!
got 6 in the mail today ohh yea
A friend of mine just got back from the BFL Regional at Lake Wheeler an said that the winner on the boater side won the tournament on a rig like the Alabama Rig.I've heard of haveing a couple of baits on 1 rod but not however many is on that rig.Not sure what I think of the Rig tournament wize.Just my thought's, an not a tournament fishermen myself.
Watch the versus channel December 18 @ 1300 if you want to see a double. I'm just mad that I saw the line of people to this truck selling these rigs and I didn't know what the line was for till after the tournament. This guy sold 400 rigs @ $25.00 and then they were being resold for up to $100.00. Dan Morehead said that 95% of the fish wee being caught on this rig. I am glad Dan won but I want a do over![]()
