So basically, you can have all 5 "baits" (they used swim baits as a reference) on the rig but it will only be 60% effective since you can only have hooks in 3 of them. It will be interesting to see how the use of this by "tournament fishermen" unfolds now. I have never seen/used one of these, but I have been out of fishing for a year or so now, but since this ruling came down now's your chance to captialize and run to the "patent" office with a 3 bait model before someone else does .

From the sounds of it, most of the pro's were only catching about 2-3 fish anyway. Apparently it's pretty rare to catch 4-5 fish at one time. Paul Elias was quoted as saying he never caught more than 2 fish at a time on his rig.
Can't wait to try mine------but from the looks of the backorder log, I will have to try mine ice-fishing.

Actually as being used by most banned by many state regs,as many have rod.line or lure limits used per angler.
Also why its called an alabama rig, they permit it there, can it be altered for other locales yes by limiting the amount of lures or actual hooks in them.
Does however defeat the purpose say as in Wis one can use two, others three with hooks.A striper rig close in nature has been around a long time, but most of those have but one hook in the very last minnow or lure.
Check your local regs before casting one with 5 lures.

That's just Highway Robbery!! I love the economic law of "supply and demand", but for goodness sakes and 800% mark-up??? And the worst part is, someone probably bought it for that price..lol

I would like to see how many times you see KVD, Skeet reece, ike,or any other of the top pros for that matter using this bait in the elite series next year. If you see any of them using this rig it will be like seeing Santa come down the chimney on Christmas in July.....lol.

Now watch me eat my words and that will be the go to bait next year...

2-3 fish at a time is plenty whether youre fun fishing or tournament fishing...my fishing partner made one last night and we took it to a little local lake today and it worked surprisingly well...didnt catch anything as we just tossed it around the bank but it will be put to use on ky lake this upcoming week

Picture and details of how to make them would be nice. What material was used to make the framework? Thanks
