barren river lake walleye

Has anyone caught any walleye out of the lake since they started the restocking program?

The reason I ask is because I caught on 21.5 inches long yesterday from the lake not the river.

I've caught them at Nolin but not Barren.Thats a nice fish & i'll be hittin Barren next month after Hybirds from a Kayak up Shadow on flats maybe i'll get a eye then if i do i'll share.

Over a lot of years I have have caught several in the headwaters, mostly by accident while stripe or crappie fishing. I had a fellow tell me about some that were caught many years ago in the area of the state park, but that was gossip that he picked up. What general area of the lake did you catch your walleye? I'm not asking for the exact area, just mostly curious. Thanks

They stocked some of those native strain ones in Barren (River above the lake) and in the Rockcastle river a few years ago.

I tried a few times for them in Barren but never had any luck.

I caught it close to the state park on the opposite side.

Fish and wildlife said it is the first report of one being that far into the lake.

Maybe that is a good sign.
