Were you using a shad color crankbait? Im going down this weekend and just trying to see what they are biting.
I fished again on Sunday, put in at daylight and fished until about 2. I fished from Peter Cave up to Laurel Branch. I had never fished that end of the lake before, I usually focus on the areas around Laurel Branch, State Park, and Axtel. Fishing was tough. Had no keepers. Every fish I caught was 12 inches. They all came on the KVD 1.5 square bill in sexy shad. Talked to several guys who weren't catching much either.
I have been on rough at least twice a week for the past month and haven't figured much out. I am starting to really dislike that lake![]()
Good luck
I fished for about three hours yesterday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm and the bass were on fire! I caught about 20 or so with six of them over 15 inches. Biggest around 2.5 to 2.75 pounds.
I just got back, fished about 2 hours and they are turned on. Fished one long bank and had 10 fish. 2 keepers, biggest was 4lbs. I finally got them to hit a jig! They were all aggressive too, 12 inch fish fought like 5 pounders
I was using a shade colored crank a strike king #3 oyster color. And translucent color spinnerbait. Might see you out their on sat. If your going sat. It will be me and my two boys and a nephew out their in a blue and white fish n ski with part of the windshield missing you see me say what's up.
