No never had to go in that direction with may side of the business. I am a level 3 in fire alarm, hold a state fire alarm system inspector certificate and misc other levels of certifications. We have an RCDD on staff who enables us to meet that spec.
I do mainly sales, installs when I can squeeze one in and service if it's something I went to school on. My market is Healthcare first and general commercial design build second. Fire alarm, card access, CCTV, various security systems and management of projects is where I'm at now.
