Laurel Lake Bass Fishing ?

Laurel Lake is such a good lake in the spring but I've always been told that after then it gets really tough.I'd be intersted in hearing opinions on fishing conditions for the rest of the year an what causes the bass bite to become non-existant for the most part an why.Anyone have any thought's ?

Wish I knew but I don't. I love the lake just not the fishing. Only thing I have ever cought out of Laurel is a few small spots and a few small rainbow trout. I would love to catch some decent smallies outta there sometime. Tell me how.

Well, for those that know, which Spring month seems to produce the best?

I fish Laurel a lot and after the spring time is over night fishing is the only way to catch fish on this lake until mid fall. Then the morning bite and the evening bite is the best with quality fish available. Thru the day of mid to late fall and early winter fish can be caught. Night fishing in deep water (15-35 feet) is what I do most often with some success. Hope this helps

Thanks for some insight "bassfish606" its a good lake in the spring for sure I just live a little to far to head down there very much through out the summer.As for best month in the spring it's a timeing thing for the best time an then figureing out the right bait they want for the better fish.When it's on it's the best lake in the central part of the state in my opinion.

Try coming to Laurel from mid Dec to March and try the float n fly! By far my favorite time to fish Laurel! It seems to me the only time you can pattern the fish is during the winter. I fish the lake year round and for me the toughest time is during the fall, cant tell u why! In the winter, I use only 3 baits mostly and they are the float n fly,silver buddy and a jiggn spoon...cant go wrong! Hope this helps, ya!
