There are some in there, be patient or try one of the other lakes

I put a 21' Gambler in several times a year with the big motor. I just live a couple miles away and fish it quite a bit, keepers are few and far between but there are some in there.

Are you allowed to idle on the lake with the big motor or can you just use it to load/unload? I was under the impression that you just couldn't get up on plane, but were allowed to idle around.
This is what the KDFWR Fishing/Boating book says:
10 HP operated at slow speeds
which cause no disturbance or interference
with fishing are required on:
Beaver Lake,
However, I wonder about a larger HP rated motor that is operated at idle speeds?
I have seen tickets given to guys using their big motor to idle around the lake. They never would budge on the 10hp limit....I was even asked by one warden years ago to trim my big motor up while fishing. In the dead of winter I have seen guys using their big motor to idle around but they are doing so at their own risk.
It's funny though because my 10hp motor pushes my jon boat pretty good and that produces a huge wake....nothing has been said to me about that.
Maybe this is a source of water for the local area? Are they concerned with polution? I so make it a 4 stroke only lake because some of those 2 strokes I have seen spew some serious fuel and oil in the water.
Anything over 10 HP must be shut off after unloading and can not be started until loading. How ever I think it's silly that we can't idle a bigger motor. My troller puts off as much wake than the big motor idling. The 20+ foot pontoons spinning their wheels with the 9.9's put off so barge like wakes and will do way more damage than me. I have thought about putting a 9.9 kicker on my Z9 and wearing it out. Now you talking about a wake. LOL!
I enjoying going there to just fish in peace without traffic. If I want to run I'll just go somewhere else.
