Never been there whats the lake like?
well, it's what i call a "hollow lake" channel is pretty deep, 35-60 ft. In places. It has several large creeks, since they've pulled the lake some you will see a lot of standing timber in the creeks. Lots of rock, anywhere from gravel, to large boulders. It's pretty easy to run, from the dam going up, 'til about what i call the "crossroads". That is where you can to
rock creek, or wax, then above wax, the river starts. Not real big, i've got a stratos 285xl, w/150 johnson, i can run from wax to the dam in about 20 -22 min.
Most of the time. The lower 2/3's say from dof creek down, it pretty clear, i'd say the main forage for bass is shad, followed by bluegill and crawfish. It has a good population of crappie, white bass, 'gills and catfish. It has both largemouth, and ky
bass, every now and then someone will catch a smallmouth.
I've been fishing it for about 45 years, i've only caught 3.
It does have some walleye, but i saw very few caught in the tourns. This summer. Hope this helps... Tr
