I put in at Benson Creek. I fished the creek for a bit first but no takers. Then I ran up river a few miles. I put the trolling motor down and that is when I noticed the current. Man, the river was moving pretty fast. I got a few bites but could not get one to hang on long enough to set the hook.
I don't know why the river had so much current unless maybe they are dropping Herrington. Anybody know?
I also had a problem with the foot switch on my trolling motor. It actually started a couple of weeks ago but it got worse today and after about three hours of fishing it quit working. So I went home and took the switch out. The rubber piece appeared to have rotted and come apart. Then I called Day's Auto and Boats. Chad told me that they will no longer be able to get trolling motor parts but that they may have a switch. After checking I was told they have two left. Great! I hurried over to Day's and got my switch. So, thank you to Day's for having my part available.
Good thing is, my old switch is still useable but I would have to jury-rig it to make it work.
