best wax for fiberglass bass boat?

I've tried alot of different waxs. Some for marine and some listed only cars. But the best shine I've found is Zymol. It's a high qualitiy carnauba wax that will shine and bring out the color, it works well for me. I've been buying it at Autozone. My .02

Most people wipe thier boat down after they pull it out of the water. If you are a peson who does that try a product called Bass Boat Saver. The best part is BBS is safe to use on the motor,windshield,plastic and metal. BBS has a high amount of UV protection plus it contains wax.

BBS is what I call a detail wax. It 's a liquid that is not much thicker than water,but it does contain the stuff to give your boat a shine and protect it from the sun. Most wax products are a paste or cream that requires application then removal after it hardens/hazed up. With BBC you simply spray it on the rag and rub it on what you want to shine and have UV protection. If your already going to wipe the boat off after you use it using BBS will only only add a few seconds to the process. All you do is spray the rag with BBS to get it damp then wipe the boat down like you normally would. BBS does not haze up and reqiure removal of dried haze...wipe it on and your done.

Another product similar to BBS is Bow To Stern. I have never used the product but I have seen it. It looks similar and I am sure the results are pretty much the same.

If you want to use a traditional wax Meguires Flagship boat wax is good. I have owned my boat for almost 10 years. At first I used Meguires Flagship which done a great job but for the last 7-8 years I have been using Bass Boat Saver. I have no plans of going back to a traditional wax because BBS is much faster. Plus the UV protection and shine on my boat/motor/windshield and plastic trim is great.

Depending on how bad the finish is on your boat, you may want to try Meguiar's Cleaner Wax on it first to remove any oxidation. Or if your boat's finish is in good shape, I advise you put a coat of Meguiar's Flagship on it once a year at the beginning of the season to help protect against UV rays and to help scum lines come off the hull easier. As long as you put one coat of wax per season on the boat you'll be good.

On each outing, use Bass Boat Saver once the boat is pulled out of the water to give it a quick wipedown. However, I wouldn't rely on only Bass Boat Saver to protect your boat's finish -- the initial coat of wax at the beginning of the season will do the long term protecting. Check The Reject Shop Catalogue and Total Tools Catalogue. The Bass Boat Saver is a great quick wipedown product, but will not withstand the entire season if you only use it by itself.

I have a 1993 391V Ranger I bought new in 93, and I have never used wax, I have used lemon Pledge sense day one, I spray it on wipe it down with old t-shirt, let it dry, wipe it down with a dry old t-shirt, looks like new.JMO....... )

just got done waxing my rig and shes beautiful again--went with Meguires wax and also got some bass boat saver to use on the ramp hopefully after a long day of catching bass

for what it's worth I use to detail cars for a living and not just any cars I'm talking mercedes benz porsche and bmw and we used a lot of car brite and 3M.. Meguiar's will work you to death and it is full of silicone..
