I caught my biggest lm on the Ohio River, day after Thanksgiving on main river, mouth of a creek on a hard jerkbait. 5.5lbs. Key note here is there was a ton of bait here at the mouth. Caught several 2lb spots too. Best 5 went over 13lbs.

only problem is, they are all small (8-12 inches). I have fished this particular creek that feeds into the ohio for several years now, and have yet to catch a lunker. Am I doing something wrong, or do most of the bass venture out into the main river once they reach mature size? Hoping some one can help explain the behavior off big river creek bass.

Use bigger baits in harder to reach, less fished places in the creek.....or go closer to the main river like BASSKY said.
