Wasn't too cold this morning, water was really muddy down by Wax. Busted the bottom of my skeg off coming out of Rock Creek. Lost the rear fishing seat when taking off, went back to find it floating by the rocks two hours later. Caught about 22 on squarebill crankbaits, all in random places, most in the mouth of Dog Creek. Water was between 50 and 53 degrees, between .5' and 1.5' visibility. Water got clearer the further down lake you went. Wind was gusting pretty bad. After about 11 am the bite kind of died off for me, plus I got spot jumped by 5 @$$holes fishing the hosko tournament. I left about 2pm. Caught about 3 keepers, two really nice spotted bass. That should say 11/19/11

I always have a spook tied on, but I really didn't see them busting on top the last two weeks. Even when they were busting, they would not hit my gunfish. The last time I saw shad flipping it was three or four weeks ago.
fished sun and during a break in the rain and wind a lot of shad were up on the main lake around the rock creek area. the bass and whites were bustin them but very scattered. shad were up as far as i could see. caught a couple on a super spook but it was much more prductive using say a cb,sp,or chatterbait. even managed 1 12in smallie.hope all this rain doesnt muddy it up too bad.
Looking at the river in my back yard and Tuesdays forecast hate to say it, but if it ain't good and muddy now it soon will be.fished sun and during a break in the rain and wind a lot of shad were up on the main lake around the rock creek area. the bass and whites were bustin them but very scattered. shad were up as far as i could see. caught a couple on a super spook but it was much more prductive using say a cb,sp,or chatterbait. even managed 1 12in smallie.hope all this rain doesnt muddy it up too bad.
A smallmouth? Really? That's awesome. Haven't seen one of those out of Nolin before. I know they are way up in the river, but I do not go too far past Wax. Especially after taking the skeg off my outboard Saturday.fished sun and during a break in the rain and wind a lot of shad were up on the main lake around the rock creek area. the bass and whites were bustin them but very scattered. shad were up as far as i could see. caught a couple on a super spook but it was much more prductive using say a cb,sp,or chatterbait. even managed 1 12in smallie.hope all this rain doesnt muddy it up too bad.
This weekend may be a good one to go to Dale Hollow. IF I fix my skeg by then. I need 2 big hammers. It's kinda bent, so the skeg shield won't go on.I was gonna say I bent it trying to swamp you coombro, but it is way too sad to play it off that way.
You just let me know and I'll be more than happy to run you up above Wax as far as you'd like to go during winter pool. Well 15 -20 miles anyway. Don't have to worry about getting swamped up there.
