Any of the newer style rods being made today in the price range of $80 or so will be a great step up for you. I like the BPS Carbonlite for baitcasting and also Kvd quantum spinning rod. These rods are so much lighter and sensitive than the poles made 5 yrs ago. I would like to try the abu garcia veritas as my next purchase. Good luck...You cant go wrong with any of the poles discussed!
