    Fly Fishing Set-up?

Just made my first Fly Rod purchase. I bought a Sage flight with Redington surge reel. 2pc. 6wt. I will mainly be using in below Lake Cumberland in KY on Wolf Creek for trout, but also on some streams around the area for small mouth. Got the rig new with the fly line for just under $300. Any opinions if this is a good setup or not. I know I like it, because I played around with a similar rig this summer and thought it fished nicely. I have always been a spinning rig guy, but want to expand my approach.

Also, just curious what others think is a good first "All Around" rig?

You really can't go wrong with one of the big name rod manufacturers like Sage. Even their lower end models cast nicely. A 6 weight is a versatile rod that you can use for a lot of different species and situations.

I agree totally with Tim...sounds like you have got a great starter set-up. I have always advised beginners to not blow the big money on a starter set-up...I would save the big purchases until you get some time and experience under your belt. Good luck, and go get em!
