you have a couple good questions for sure, and for your secound question, it's a shame that any church door should ever have to be locked.I wonder what the world would be like if people started camping out two or three days before election day, to make sure they got their vote in? Same train of thought applies to church service on Sunday...I wonder what the world would be like if people were lined up down the steps, along the sidewalk, across the parking lot and down the street a ways waiting for the church doors to open.
I agree with you but it's the reality of many things in today's churches. I have been asked many times to design security systems for churches. It's a tough decision for most churches because they want the open door policy but at the same time can't afford to get vandalized or stolen from.
So far all the big churches have installed a security system and at least one has installed a card access system.
The big churches invest a ton of money in pro sound, projectors, computers instruments and instrument storage and the property itself. They want it clean and user friendly and while they allow anyone (they say) they also don't want threatening folks walking around. I mean there are babies, toddlers, (daycare) disabled and senior citizens in most churches and they are responsible for their well being. It's sad that a church has to have security personnel or just security to watch its investment and when your get right down to it the people are the biggest investment they have.
Smaller churches don't usually have the same problems as these larger churches. Im sure location can dictate a certain amout of security regardless of size.
Supposedly, its the one day where the total sales drive the business from the red into the black for the year. Which really hints that if they didn't rip you off 11 months and 29 days, they'd do better all year long. Those videos just confirm what I have heard from folks up here in restaurants, on the radio that those who participate in black friday are crazy, totally crazy. We think you folks are nuts to act like that in public. Where did the name Black Friday ever come from. Maybe cuz you will be black and blue if you go near a store that day. Greed and the stores are to blame for this type of behaviour.
I think they ought change the name to "Savage Sale Day".
Sometimes these shoppers look like a bunch of Stripers that have circled bait on the surface.
Next year, I'm taking a rod and reel, and tying on an Ipod as a lure, and see how many hotties I can catch on Black Friday.
The human race has reverted back to animalistic traits. Totally pathetic
