The on campus arena was 96/97. They even had the proposed site picked out on the corner of Rose St and Ave of Champions. It was across the street from Memorial.
Dag gone Mills...I never comment on these sports threads much, but seriously, you think alcohol is one of the reasons that U of L has such good attendance???? Man I know you can't be serious about this...seriously, that's what you think??? Now if beer was $2.00 per 16 ounces of draft or $1.50 dollar longnecks during one of the two halves, then yea I'd agree with you. But at $8.00 dollars per beer I GAURANTEE you there ain't no one rushing to the Yum Center for the beer. Maybe to ogle the lady birds yes, but not for $8.00 beers....heck man, there's enough happy hour deals all around the Yum center now days, everyone loads up before the game and gets one to go to drink on the walk over to the arena. No Tim again I said that U of L has more seats available for it's games and the sales of alcohol is the 2 major reasons why U of L has more attendence and overall sales....
Quite a bit of money is made in beer sales at Chicken Arena per game played there.....$8.00 a beer x all the beer drinkers at the games adds up to a lot of money for U of L.....
In fact....I doubt very seriously if anyone TRULY interested in a sporting event of any kind makes their decision on attending a game or event based on whether or not alcohol is sold.
You ever heard of a flask?
Pretty sure they are not $8 either, but its Mills, so facts never get in the way of his arguments anyway.
Srry he's a U of L fan and I believed him when he told me how much he paid for the beer...So I guess since he's loose as you say. Then I'll put him in the group with you, BPL and Mhall...you've all had too much Red Kool aid...Hows that......
No I don't think Kool aid is his problem. Sounds like it might be beer if he can't remember what he paid for them.
Speaking of beer sales, I explained this to you previously, but maybe this time you will read and comprehend it. Louisville doesn't make as much as you think off of the beer sales. They allow charities and booster clubs to work and make money for their various programs. For example, our high school football booster work a booth at each home game to make money to pay for different things for the boys.
Again someone else is trying to put words into my mouth......I never said a word about the reason fans attend U of L games was due to the beer.....Dag gone Mills...I never comment on these sports threads much, but seriously, you think alcohol is one of the reasons that U of L has such good attendance???? I said that the beer sales at 8.00 a beer adds up over the course of the season..Which does impact the Money the Basketball team takes in for the beer sales.
I did say..Chicken Arena has more seats and Chicken Areana sells beer to it's fans.....
They are pretty good at twisting things around.Again someone else is trying to put words into my mouth......I never said a word about the reason fans attend U of L games was due to the beer.....
