# 1 UNC goes down

Indiana is gonna be a force to be reckoned with. Tom is a hell of a coach who can pull upsets at the drop of a hat. I liked him better when he was at Marquette. Now we have to face him once a year.

I remember after a Louisville/Marquette game Pitino said Tom Crean teams were the toughest to prepare for because they ran so many different offensive sets. To be honest, it has taken Crean a little longer to turn IU around than I thought it would, but he appears to be getting it done now.

CTC's first class are junior's now and their getting beter and better as each year goes by.....

Not bad at all from starting his career with only 1 walkon player from the previous year as Sampson as the head coach.....

As excited as I am about UK being #1, I don't think they should come out with rankings until maybe mid January....All the rankings are right now is built up preseason hype....Let the teams get 10 or 15 games under their belt and them come out with the rankings....It doesn't play as much of a factor in basketball as it does with the stupid BCS in football

Honestly, how can they rank a team that's only returning 2 starters and will be starting freshman at the point, small forward, and center positions at #2...With that being said....GO CATS

Tom Crean is a good coach...Samson Flintsone left a mess....Crean has almost cleaned it up.

Yep I agree....Duke always gets the love regardless of what they put on the court..I'm actually surprised they didn't jump the whole field to the #1 spot....

UK has 3 big time games coming up...IU, UNC, and U of L....I mean ****....these are tourney matchups..if we get lucky enough to win them...then strap us with the #1...until them I aint buying it....

Cards are #6 ..with a bunch of guys on the bench hurt...

Going to be interesting for the STATE of KY basketball....we could see a #1 and #2

I agree Billy and agree with F-I-L that preseason rankings are useless. UK may very well be the best team in the country, but it is too early to tell. There is no way that Louisville is the number 6 team right now. They might be once everyone gets healthy, but not right now.

I agree with ya there. These polls are as useless as tit's on a bull. To many polls anyway. Only one I pay attention to is the good ol AP poll.

Look at UNLV...look at UCLA.....One beat the number one and one was supposed to be close to the number one on the pre-season poles....Yeah we beat Kansas...Kansas kinda woke up a little after that butt-whoopin...trips to the wood shed aint easily forgotten....this is going to be a good season all around for college basketball. The NBA situation may have some of the top rated players waying thier options.....

I agree that rankings now mean squat. If we're ranking on potential, I can buy a UK #1 ranking. If we're ranking on performance so far, part of me says that UK is not #1...but then I kind of have a hard time naming a team that has performed better so far.

Louisville narrowly escapes Ohio U, and then Long Beach State tonight...they certainly aren't playing like the #6 team in the land...but they're also banged up pretty good.

I agree with Billy - Beat UNC, IU, and UL...then I'll take that #1 ranking. That would mean victories over Kansas, Carolina, Indiana, and The Ville. That's prime beef.

But regardless, it's all about being ready in March, and having performed up to that point to get you a good seeding in the big dance.

Did you boys see Coach Cal's Tweet/Facebook/Whatever yesterday where he was talking about being afraid of over-scheduling now that we'll be playing 2 more regular season games next season with the SEC expansion? With also playing in the Champions Classic (vs Duke next year) He was "polling" the Big Blue Nation about which series we would rather see dropped if need be - North Carolina, Indiana, or Louisville.

Yeah I hope UK don't drop the IU series..we been rivals for way to long...although owned for the past 10 years.....
