Get rid of one of the Portland/Radford games a year and keep all three....I'd rather have my team tested a little more early in the season than to play these cupcakes....the guys get pressed harder in practice than they do in some of these games....However you also have to look at the small schools point of view and they make a large chunk of money playing the larger schools
IU is not going to catch anybody in titles, I don't see why you think Crean is suddenly going to start winning titles, since he has only been to one final four ever. Come to think of it, that's the same number Cal has officially been to! I find it funny that all of a sudden Crean and Cal are considered better coaches than Pitino, especially when they were playhing each other in conference. Crean only managed one C-USA title and Cal never won one until Crean, Pitino and Huggins were gone. Louisville has been far more successful in the last 10 years than IU and on equal footing with UK, yet you want to drop that game? Why not just drop all three and schedule Raford again!![]()
And just how many Championship games has U of L been to in the last 26 years?IU is not going to catch anybody in titles, I don't see why you think Crean is suddenly going to start winning titles, since he has only been to one final four ever. OK I left out the part about this being a response to thebasketball program only.... Now think hard..How many basketball Championship games has U of L been to in the last 26 years?
2 main reasons U of L has better attendance at games is simple...Their arena's hold more fans than Assembly Hall...Assembly Hall only holds barely over 17,000 fans for it's games...
Another reason, Assembly Hall doesn't sell beer to it's fans...
So of course U of L will have more in attendence and saels than IU...even I can figure that out.....
Alcohol sales is a BIG contributor to the revenue of any arena or stadium. Rupp Arena is bone freaking dry during any college sports outings.....
So lack of aclohol sales is why IU doesn't have the attendance numbers? That makes sense, I would have to drink to watch the Hoosiers play!
Hey Clyde, Since so many people are just dying to go see IU play, how come you guys haven't expanded Assembly Hall or built a new arena? I mean after all, most of the country is IU fans according to Coombro's sampling!
Once again Tim your reading things that are not there. I said the IU fan base is larger than the UL fan base. That when I am out of state I see more IU logos than UL. Please don't quote me on things I didn't say. I'll get back to you on my thoughts as to what team I has the largest fan base in the country. So lack of aclohol sales is why IU doesn't have the attendance numbers? That makes sense, I would have to drink to watch the Hoosiers play!

No Tim again I said that U of L has more seats available for it's games and the sales of alcohol is the 2 major reasons why U of L has more attendence and overall sales....So lack of aclohol sales is why IU doesn't have the attendance numbers? That makes sense, I would have to drink to watch the Hoosiers play!

Quite a bit of money is made in beer sales at Chicken Arena per game played there.....$8.00 a beer x all the beer drinkers at the games adds up to a lot of money for U of L.....
I may as well comment...sounds to me like there are some here who are very jealous of the fact that the University of Louisville has their own, very NICE and very NEW arena to play ball in.
Coonbro and Mills, if you all ain't been down there to visit it yet you ought to...heck at least catch a concert or something, it's first class!
UK likes to copy Louisville an awful lot for us being little brother. We expand stadium, they start talks. We build the yum center, suddenly rupp isn't good enough. We hire strong, and UK gets joked. Bunch of wannabes if you ask me.I may as well comment...sounds to me like there are some here who are very jealous of the fact that the University of Louisville has their own, very NICE and very NEW arena to play ball in.
