Fished with Know1 from the board.....

We fished Dale Hollow........Tough bite for 3 days. Tougher than I thought it would be.

We did manage a few on Friday but nothing to brag about. A few small fish on Saturday, and a couple even smaller fish on Sunday.

Know blanked yesterday, and I got lucky on a jig. Embrey stuck a couple yesterday but nothing to brag about.

I really think when they are pulling, it makes things tough.

Not too tough though, since the Billy had a few boats that weighed overs on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm headed back next weekend and maybe the next.

Hey guys it was a real hit an miss time from the stories i heard.
I too matched your results.
I was talking to myself, after i get back to the boat, (houseboat) I questioned those regulars around me an learn most of my neighbors had similar stories.
i blamed my failure on my bait way smaller than i like.
Guys if you can get back and are around the state dock an want to try some livebait, I should be able to help.

Talked to a guy that was down there today, he fished with live bait and wound up with 12....Using the creek minnows....said he didn't have any overs but several in the 18+ range

Where can you get the "creek minnows" referred to...do you have to sein them from a creek?

CERTAINLY not trying to start something here......just asking a question.

On a side note, one of the biggest/baddest bluegills I've ever seen came off a creek chub that I had caught, froze, thawed and used very, very early one spring.

Had I known, that bluegill would have been an Indiana state record. Yea, I ATE it.........I was 15 or 16 years old and it made one hell of a samwich.....

Geo, hope this answers it, I think as long as they are native to KY, and not a sport fish it's okay.

The fish are transitioning from Fall to Winter. Lots of things working.

Live bait seems to be the favorite.

We ran into some guys fishing with minnows and we told them we were fishing the Billy. They gave us all kinds of room and even went back up creek as they saw we were jacking them.

This has not been my experience in recent weeks as they tend to move right in.

I don't care how you choose to catch them, but we had a respectable number without using live bait. Plus, you still have to put it around fish.
