What you wrote is right in line with an article on Rabbit Hunting in this months issue of Kentucky Outdoor's. The article said there's still good rabbit hunting but now days the rabbits are closer to human habitat such as homes, barns, etc for the very reason you mentioned, coyotes...In order to stay away from the coyote's the rabbit's have moved closer to human habitat because Coyote's tend to stay away from human habitat.
