IU Beats UK

UK fan here, and to compare what the IU fans to what happened in the Cincy/Xavier game is ridiculous....The IU players did absolutely nothing wrong and the fans just did what has been done for years when your unranked team beats the #1 team in the country...Is it a safety concern for players and fans, yes, but they're college kids and they will do what they will do.....Heck most of these kids were born in the 90's and don't know anything about the tradition at IU...I promise it won't be the last time we you see the floor be rushed in an NCAA basketball game this year

I was at the Florida game years ago when UK beat them at Rupp and I'm pretty sure they rushed the floor??? Maybe I'm wrong but either way it's gonna happen when something like this happens. It's excusable in my book and a part of the excitement with college ball.

As far as the crap with cincy and Xavier nothing compares to that embarrassment. Heck I never liked bobby knight throwing temper tantrums but would rather see that than these senseless fights.

Kentucky beat #1 Florida at Rupp Arena in 2003, but we have never rushed the court at Rupp Arena, to my knowledge. Even after our down years, I would be kind of embarrassed if we did. Rushing the court is reserved for teams that are huge underdogs, with otherwise crappy performance over a lengthy period of time, that manage to pull off a monumental upset. The fans of basketball "royalty" (UCLA, Duke, North Carolina, UCONN, Kansas, Michigan State, Kentucky....and what used to be Indiana) shouldn't ever rush the court IMO. Those teams are supposed to win at home. Assembly Hall is a wicked place to play a big game. Indiana beat #20 Illinois last year and rushed the court....then, of course, they rushed Saturday night after beating #1 Kentucky. I'll give the Hoosiers a pass for Saturday night, because it was a shocking ending on a last second play, but I still think rushing the court is (1) dangerous for the players (especially the losers trying to get out), and (2) way overdone.

Rushing should be reserved for somebody like Kentucky football, who is a perpetually-lower-than-whale-crap program for the history of time....and finally beats Tennessee after 26 attempts, for instance. LOL

I was going on memory brother. I really thought they did and I remember wanting to join but we were in the nose bleeds and by the time I would get there they would be sweeping the floor so we just watched. Hell I'm getting old and all those years of drugs might be catching up with me????

I do remember watching one of the loudest games I have ever been to. I'm not a screamer or loud talker but about lost my voice just trying to talk to my girlfriend during the game.... It was great!! Even though the Gators lost it was fantastic!

Rupp can be a loud loud place for a big game....it's not as intimidating as somewhere like Assembly Hall or Cameron Indoor in my honest opinion, because of our inability to put the students in seats all around the court, or at least in BOTH end zones...

Hey I will even admit, that i would have been one of the fans to storm AH bb court at the end of that game against UK.............

I've watched the replay of that last shot at least 10 times and watched the entire game over again, trying to pick up more info on the game..... I believe that if Indiana had kept to their strategy and kept getting the ball inside to Zeller, they would have won by 10 or more...But they didn't stick to the plan and let UK get back into the game. Teague almost single handly won the game for UK...But lady luck was on our side on that big shot.....

I was there too..........I was a Music Performance major at Indiana and was a member of the marching band AND the pep band.......

Yes it was and that was the New Orleans Superdome. Gave $2 for a ticket. I was rootihg for Syracuse as IU was a bitter rival back then. Them yankees made me sick. I turned cheeck and pulled for IU and I feel I was their *th man to help pull it off.
