I spoke with a couple of other boats and they were all fishing about 30' deep. I caught a few nice smallies in about 8' of water running a crankbait bouncing it off the bottom. Caught one nice smallie. my measuring stick on the boat is 18" and it hung over by about an 1 1/2". "still trying to post pic". The water color on the south end of the lake is GREAT. temp was 47-48 deg.

Caught fish on crankbait, 1 on silver buddy, one on suspending jerkbait . all fish came on the west side of lake next to the dam. I think it will be sunny saturday. if you are bass fishing those fish will be there. also if its sunny dont be afraid to throw a crankbait parallel with the dam digging up the bottom . I did mark a lot of fish on channel breaks in about 25-30 of water. I threw everything at them (jigs, spoons, dropshot, shaky head) and couldnt get bit. did catch one catfish doing that tough.

Thanks for the tips. I bought a couple Alabama rigs and am too anxious to wait until Spring to use them, so I'm bringing the boat out of hibernation.
I will give you a full report.

Well, not much of a report to give. I only caught one fish - 14" gizzard shad.

Nope, I have a 17' white Skeeter.

I drove across the Fairfield Causeway in a White Yukon and saw a white bassboat fishing the rocks. Thought it was a stratos, may have been a Skeeter.

Speaking of Skeeter. They might have a new tournament trail here in Indiana this year

Im looking to head up this Friday, has anyone been this week? Just wondering if the water is still clear ? I will be mostly fishing near the dam in hopes of catching Smallmouth. Or any pointers will be helpful too, this will only be my second time fishing this lake.
