This is a direct result of the "information age". So many people think the internet is great because you can get news quickly that they do not consider at what cost. Since the internet, major news organization have made major blunders in this hurry to get the in formation out. Couple that with the various web sites and blogs and suddenly everybody has a source and everybody is a news reporter. There is very little fact checking in this day and age and it is sad.

You are correct Geo, the damage is done and it should never have happened.
