Need Quick conditions for Stoner

Nothing like Surgery on Halloween and another Surgery Thankgiving night, open incision but can't stand it. Planning on taking my 8 yr old with me. Help with conditions. Thanks

Was out on the bike today and took a ride past the ramp at fryman's.. they were cleaning the mud off the ramp that was left from the last couple weeks and the creek looked great, might not be as clear as you float'n'fly guys like... Somebody braved the mud today, there was a lone trailer there... I suspect the fishing is pretty good, the creek produces pretty well this time of the year... We missed a great day to be on the water today we did.

You dont have to have clear water to F-n-f Stoner. Slightly stained water and good current are a lot better down there than slow and clear.

I tried that technique a couple years ago, it just wasn't the thing for me, bought a 9 foot F'n'F rod and it was too much of a struggle casting the thing and getting the fish in the boat after I had cranked the float to the rod tip, it seemed almost like a three stooges comedy trying to land the fish and I swore off nets years ago, would rather lose a few fish than put up with a landing net in the boat... I do however enjoy catching crappie with the outfit in the spring but you only have 3 or 4 feet of line out and a good crappie is considerable smaller that a good bass which makes them much easier to get in the boat... I hope this rain quits raising the creek up over the ramp, I enjoy fishing the creek this time of the year but they don't usually clean the mud off the ramp after the creek gets up this late in the year, the fellas who were cleaning the ramp said this would probably be the last time they would clean it until the spring season.
