Anyone ever fish for crappie out of the Beach Island area?

I have not in that area, but we have a houseboat at union co on the powell side and catch crappie from march until June, right now with limited treetops try the shallow creek banks with any trees in 8 + feet of water. I did catch an 11 inch crappie on cut shad on a jug, my first on a jug.

I know this thread is a little dated, sorry I don't check the TN board that frequently. I've heard of some good cathces coming out of Norris around Hickory Star, but that's been over a week ago. I'm going on Saturday, but we'll be bass fishing. If that doesn't go well, we might try to catch some slabs. I'll let you know how it goes.
