Is there a limit to how many rods you can use?

I have read through the Kentucky fishing guide, but I don't see this addressed.

    1) Is there a legal limit of how many rods you can fish with?

    2) Is there a legal limit of how many hooks you can tie onto one line?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Is there a limit to how many rods you can use?

As far as legal, i've never heard of a limit of number of rods. Like, if your bank fishing, or still fishing for cats' 'gills or whatever from a boat. If your fishing a bass tourn. You can have as many rods as you want, but you can only use 1 at a time. As far as the number of hooks, that's different from state to state, if you go to k.d.f.r. On the 'net, they may have a place you can e-mail them to get the state regs for ky... Tr

This question about the number of rods and hooks you can use when fishing was addressed on one Kentucky Afields question episode. The game warden present said you can use as many rods as you wish. I am not sure about the number of hooks but I do know there is a limit of 50 hooks on a trot line. I am sure nobody would be using this many hooks on a rod and reel.

There is no limit of rods in Kentucky. Indiana you can only use 3/person. I don't think there is a limit in Tennessee either.

Why is there a limit on rods? I could see if your trolling or using live bait.. But if im bass fishing i like to have rods for different situations, that is slightly ridiclous if im only using one at a time..

SLP ... no limit on number of rods or hooks/line, in KY. (you missed the Q/A on rod limits in the Fishing/Boating Guide ... page 16 - bottom left corner - blue highlighted box)

BRANDON ... the rule is in reference to fishing Bass tournaments, not pleasure fishing. In Bass tourneys you can't troll, use live bait, or use more than one rod at a time .. but you can have as many rods in the boat as you like.

The blue box! I read through that thing countless times trying to find that answer and it was right in front of my face. I was looking for it in all the hard places and it was so obvious I missed it.

Thanks again guys for your help.

Far as I know you can fish as many rods as you want in KY.I fish the Ohio side of the river quite a bit where one is only allowed two.Am not sure about the complete rules but will sometimes carry three or four but make sure that only two are being fished at one time, hope this is legal.Next time my license are checked will try to get this clear.
