    Bonehead move

So I'm choppin wood on Saturday and feeling pretty good about myself. Splitting chunks with one swing, accurately hitting small pieces and getting some nicely shaped cuts of wood. Well I was done with all the wood I had set aside to chop and decided to get some from the pile at the back of the yard. Like I said I'm feeling good about getting the excersize and stuff and decided to really amp it up and nail some large pieces thinking I could split them with one blow.
Didn't work out that way at all.....I spent a few minutes working one good log over and when I was ready to do some final chops I messed up. I hit this one small piece of wood with the force of trying to split these large logs and this small piece shattered into several pieces that came flying at me. Don't k ow how it happened but one of the pieces hit my middle finger knuckle on my right hand and it hurt like crazy but then went numb. I kept chopping for another 10 minutes until I completed the task.
Dang hand was hurting so bad I finally went to the doc on Monday and they said it was a fractured knuckle. This thing looks nasty! Yellow and purple down several fingers and yellow as hell around the fractured knuckle. They gave me some pain killers so that helps. Good news is I can still hold a rod in my hand and fish!!

Long as you can still fish brother the rest is all details. And if the fishing is real slow, pop an extra pain killer and bam, everything is groovy. You can also tell the ladies wild stories about how you busted the knuckle performing various heroic deeds.

You know, I've heard if you clench your truck keys in the hand and soak it in a portalet holding tank for 20 minutes a day it heals twice a fast.

Seriously though, sorry about the hand, hope you heal up quick.

I'm sorry you broke your finger. Hope it will soon be as good as new.

Will it turn into a permanent "one finger salute?"

It's working out quite well. I get food served to me since I hurt my hand because you know (wink wink) I can't hold too much plus while shopping (as im doing now) I don't have to carry as many bags for my girlfriend.
