I'd put in at the state park and I'd say most will agree...very good ramps with very good parking

I do not plan on purchasing a Tenn license as I plan to stay in Kentucky waters. Where is the best place to launch at if I am coming from Louisville, considering travel time and usable ramps?

That is kinda what my plan was, just wanted to make sure there wasn't another ramp that was closer. Do you have to have a special tag to navigate Tenn waters, like to go to the other creek that is in Ky?
Nope, just as long as you aren't fishing...I've often wondered, and maybe the Dale regulars on here can give me an answer....Where does KY waters end if you're heading past trooper island...I've seen those red marker buoys but I'm unsure what they mean
There is a sign on the last point on the right as you pass out of the illwill embayment (past the lodge heading towards Sulphur). That sign indicates where the line is. From there it sort of splits the second Lilydale island. There is a sign on the southern side of that island. From there, it cuts across that bay. I can't find a sign on the southern end and my reference point is somewhat vague, so I won't try to describe that part. Rick Hise may be able to clear that up if he sees this topic.
Hope this is somewhat helpful.
Mike
Thanks for the info guys, my Navionics app on my smartphone shows the line, as well as my Navionics chip in my Humminbird. I just didn't want to get stopped if I ventured to an area that required me to cross into Tennessee for a bit. Looks like there is plenty of good water in Ky.
what we refer to as the "first cut", across from the state park marina, go about 1/2 mile on your left.
That is where the core had the reciprocal water sign posted. (past tense it fell in an wasn't replaced.)
so if u drew a line from the sign where the wolf meets the big water through 2nd Twin Island, one closet to trooper island, to a about a .5 mile from the 1st cut , is where u are legal w/reciprocal waters,
Id have to think there would be some common sense law enforement for giveness there abouts without good markers
the red bouy by lilydale means it very shallow thereabouts, its a large area thats is dangerouly shallow

im sorry those bouys are for high water times houseboats need to watch those overhead power lines
Thanks Rick....I always thought it was marking the reciprocal waters and wouldn't venture down there...Guess I have some new water to start looking in to....Heading down there Monday and probably again toward the end of the week
