    Democracy vs Liberty

Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

Is this why we can't balance the budget

We have not even had a budget since the Democrats took over Congress let alone balance it. They have to tax and spend and a budget would make it harder to do.

Not to be to nit picky.....but the house has a 2/3 republican majority and the democrats have a very narrow senate majority. To say the least congress is currently split.

When did democrats "take over congress"?

    YOU ARE kidding, right............

    LETS be picky.

Harry REID is current Senate Majority Leader, therefore they have a MAJORITY. They used to have a Super majority.

Nancy CRAZYWOMAN Pelosi was the Speaker of the House.....meaning They had a majority in the House.

When Obama was elected, that had the House, a SUPER MAJORITY in the Senate and the White House, and didn't get **** accomplished.

Most of their GARBAGE failed because MOST democrats didn't want it either. No BUDGETS passed in 2 years, BECAUSE MOST democrats didn't want the budgets either.

When your OWN PARTY votes against the GARBAGE you're trying to pass, it must really STINK.

You really need to keep up with this stuff more.

Say what you want, but when Gingrich was speaker so many years ago, he was ABLE to get crap done with a president willing to work.

I really think politics and politicians are so more divided today than they EVER were in the past. Most of them cannot even stand to be in the company of the others.

Like I said before.........DO the Peoples business.........

    Later,

    Geo

Geo, I don't think there is any hope for you.

Congress is not controlled by democrats, it's split now.

We have reports in that show 1/3 of the homeless population in the country are families with children, compared to less than 1% in 1980.

So remember to not share your pocket change with that panhandler, he could be one of the 66% without children or worse yet be one of the 20% with chronic disabilities.

US corporations move manufacturing and jobs to China and then complain they steal trade secrets, what do they expect?

Thank goodness we have the unions to blame. Mexico is thriving with all the jobs moved there. Just you have to spend any money you make on body guards and bribes and even then 99% of the population receives no benifit from these jobs.

I think we will have a population that rivals any third world country here in the US within a generation or two.

Be careful what you wish for.

    Re: Democracy vs Liberty

It's a good thing we aren't a Democracy. I will take Liberty every time. Forcing me to get health care has nothing to do with liberty. And yes they were able to get health care by bribing their own members(Landreu and others). Thats how bad that stinker was(is). They even went the nuke option when Scott Brown was elected by telling the voters he was the vote that would stop health care dead(it worked he got elected). I hope the Supreme Court does what is right and shoots that thing down(very unlikely). Remember what Pelosi said...."we have to pass it to find out whats in it". Well we found out that there are tax increases and more mandates on small business. Thank you ma'am, may I have another! I don't want anyone forcing me under threat of a fine or jail to get Government health care. It's already falling apart. You are exempt if you are a union or big fast food like McDonalds. Is this Liberty? Liberty, liberty, liberty. Give me Liberty! Taking money from me(or printing more, or even worse borrowing from China) to pay off unions and big business in the name of "too big to fail" isn't liberty. These are things that got done in the first two years. There are others too. Our Government now is in the car making business and after telling the financial businesses that they had to loan to people who couldn't afford houses(which helped in the financial crash), they just bought the majority in those businesses making the Government the largest share holders(you and me). BO makes the head of GE a big wig in his Government. The Government starts with this goofy squirly looking light bulb and then GE turns around and makes a big deal with China to have light bulbs made in China. What American jobs? Give me Liberty! Yes they got a lot done in the first two years. Now lets hold them accountable!

Oh and yes I do believe that there are Progressive Republicans that love power as much as the Progressive Dems and will try to protect Government Health care and other big Government projects. Every time I see the Rep debates I see a bunch of Progressives up there. There might be one or two that aren't running for "power purposes". I say give the power back to the people and stop with this "change" nonsense.
