Re: We're getting poorer, Congress is getting richer!

Waterdog101 - It ain't so much about any politicians being crooked...is it? Granted I know there are some crooks amongst them. But take the crookedness out of it, aren't the salaries and benefit packages way over the top to begin with?

Vetbass - You speak the truth!

What line of work does anyone know of that allows for such high paying salaries and luxurious retirement benefits? I guess what I mean is, what line of work has that much profit built into it? I seriously do not think ANY line of work allows a single employee to be so productive and profitable that he's able to retire EARLY or on time for that matter and recieve luxurious retirement benefits. It's really not there...yea I know, some do recieve nice retirement packages, but I think the only reason is because the funding for it comes from workers not yet retired and regular old consumers like me and you....the brass at the top just keeps passing the buck, raising prices, etc. This is my opinion on it anyway.

the main problem is that money and therefore greed now control our country--you and i can vote in and vote out whoever we like and nothing will change until you stop the money

    1. Limit political contributions made by companies/individuals/or any political group
    2. Limit the amount that can be spent on any one political campaign by a candidate or superpacs
    3. Limit the number/amount of time/money spent by lobbyists

    4. MOST IMPORTANT is trying to stop the total elemination of God and his son from our country--the more distance we put between Jesus Christ and our country the worse things will continue to get for us all!

The current situation the country is in is Obama's fault. He had three years to get us out of this hole and he only dug us deeper. Granted , we were headed toward a recession when he took office and he ddid nothing effective to turn it around. His signature health care bill made it worse. He made the business environment uncertain and is anti business. Big business has money that they are sitting on but won't invest it in an uncertain business environment. The Obama administration has introduced regulation after regulation on businesses and they won't hire people and create jobs. They don't know how much an employee is gonna cost 2 years from now when Obamacre will kick in full. They also have to spend money to be in compliance with all these new regulations. Yes the state of th country is Obama's fault. We are worse off than 3 years ago

Hey, let them get as much money from contributors as they want, and let them spoend as much as they want. Make that required by law to be disclosed 2 days before election night.

Then don't vote for the guys that spent the most money.....let them stew in their own campaign debt pot.

When some people don't know what they are talking about, they blame George Bush II as if he is a perpetual president. He hasn't run this country in three years but there are people who don't seem to remember that. It's three years past time for Obama to be held responsible for the stupid decisions he has made. Read the transcript of his Inaugural Speech on January 20, 2009, and compare what he said then to what he has accomplished since he took office.

It's Nobama's fault, it's both of the Bush's fault, Reagan's fault, Clinton's Fault, Carter's fault, Nixon and on down the line (although Gerald Ford did as decent of a job as can be expected as he was thrown into the ring halfway through).

Its every stinkin', rotten, lying, cheating, scandalous poor excuse for politicians fault. I'm not here to point fingers but more here to make sure everyone is aware of how filthy rich and well taken care of everyone of these slimball politicians are...and on mine and your dime!

I may be over the top in my thinking, but it sure feels like there needs to be a revolution of sorts happen in this country, all directed at every politician presently holding or running for office. I guess it could start by having signs made up that say: "How come politicians getting rich and I'm getting poorer?" and make sure these signs are in plain sight of the candidate at the podium.

Sure does feel like to little to late.

Yep, there's a reason Obama is willing to pay close to a billion dollars to get reelected to a $250,000.00 a year job. It sure isn't an honest reason.

Figured it out. Reason they get paid so much while in office.

Since the public gets to see their behaviors and judgements, they aren't likely to get employed anywhere after leaving office.
